Yes, we know that you want to know: will the race be wetsuit legal? The short answer is, well... we won't know until race morning when the the water temperature is checked by the USAT official. First, the USAT rules that we abide by:
Because the Keuka Lake Tri is an early season race when the water is colder, the answer is generally going to be a yes... wetsuit legal. But Peasantman, by contrast, is in August. To date Peasantman has always been wetsuit legal on race morning, though only by a whisker a couple times. But there's a really good way to check the probability of the race being wetsuit legal. The Keuka Lake Association lists a daily water temperature reading from the Penn Yan water plant that you can check by clicking here. Keep in mind that water temperature can vary quite a bit as a result of weather, time of day, location, depth, etc., so it's not a guarantee that the temperature will be the same at the race site, but it's a great reference. We will always announce the official temperature on race morning.
